Event Schedule and Housekeeping Rules

We are excited to welcome you to India Day 2024 on Saturday, August 24, 2024, at 300 S. Main Street, Greenville, SC (Greenville Downtown). To ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for everyone, please review the event schedule and the following housekeeping rules.

 

Event Schedule

  • 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM: Open Mat Yoga
  • 10:30 AM – 12:30 PM: Parade (Start at Junction of Augusta St/ S.Main St. End at E. Broad St./S.Main St by AC Hotel)
  • 12:30 PM – 1:00 PM: Flag Hoisting Ceremony
  • 1:00 PM – 7:30 PM: Cultural Dance Performances
  • 7:30 PM – 10:00 PM: Live DJ Music

From 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM, we will also have ongoing interactive demos of the following in the exhibit area:

  • Singing traditional Indian music
  • Playing musical instruments
  • Sampling delicious Indian food
  • Creating Rangoli, an Indian art form
  • Learning Sanskrit, an ancient Indian language
  • Picturing yourself Indian with a 360 Photo Booth

Please stop by the Exhibit booths at Graham Plaza. They showcase cultural artifacts from India’s North, South, East, and West Zones, each highlighting its unique heritage.

Housekeeping Rules

  • Arrival: All participants, please arrive at least 45 minutes before your scheduled activity to ensure you have enough time to check in and settle. Participant and Volunteer check-in are located inside Gunter Theater.
  • Respect for Performers: Kindly maintain silence during performances and avoid any disruptions.
  • Cleanliness: Please use the trash bins provided around the venue to keep the area clean.
  • Safety: In case of any emergency, please follow the instructions of the event staff and law enforcement officials.
  • Food and Beverages: Food vendors will be available throughout the event. Please remember to dispose of any food waste responsibly.
  • Lost and Found: If you lose any personal belongings, please check the lost and found station located inside Gunter Theatre.
  • First Aid: A first aid station will be available on-site for any medical emergencies.
